The fantastic work going on at Shepherd special school in Nottingham is continuing. We started supporting mambers of staff with the use of AAC and FCT two years ago and a recent visit showed am amazing diversity of AAC use in the senior class for students with PMLD.

This objects of reference choosing board is available every snack time.

So is this voice output objects of reference set up. The student makes their choice and can now ask out loud for their favourite drink.

This board is for a student in the same class who has graduated to photographs.

This student is working with black and white symbols.

It is great to see such diversity in one class. Also, to see pupils who have the PMLD label being enabled to go beyond objects of reference.
